GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 694471
Right clicks have inconsistent behavior
Last modified: 2017-03-12 19:49:41 UTC
In GTK+ apps, the behavior for right click is as follows: 1. Right click -> Open menu 2. Right click or left click anywhere else -> Close menu and don't act on the click On the desktop and dash, clicks while a menu is open properly close the menu, but the click is passed on to have additional actions. In the notification area, only right clicks close the menu, and both left and right clicks are passed on to have additional actions.

Also, in 3.7.92 if you right click an app in the dash and then left click the "Show Apps" button, the clicks don't register.
(In reply to comment #2) > Also, in 3.7.92 if you right click an app in the dash and then left click the > "Show Apps" button, the clicks don't register. That's not a bug, clicking outside the source icon/menu should pop down the menu, nothing else.
Sorry. Not only does the first left click not do anything, but subsequent clicks do nothing too. App <- Right click All apps icons <- Left click, left click, left click and nothing happens.
Lets keep the bug focused on one issue. Which is it going to be: - desktop background context menu - message tray context menu - dash right click menu / app toggle ?
I'm closing this as obsolete: (In reply to Hashem Nasarat from comment #0) > On the desktop and dash, clicks while a menu is open properly close the > menu, but the click is passed on to have additional actions. I cannot reproduce this. > In the notification area, only right clicks close the menu, and both left > and right clicks are passed on to have additional actions. The message tray was removed in 3.16.
