GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 693607
Limited information regarding GST_DEBUG_DUMP_DOT_DIR
Last modified: 2013-02-14 00:08:23 UTC
The man pages for gst-launch etc describe the use of the environment variable GST_DEBUG_DUMP_DOT_DIR to create dot files - but give no clue as to how the dot files should then be processed. It would be good to (at least) mention that you need graphviz installed to generate the picture - and then dot could be listed in the 'See Also' section. The impression is given that the environment variable applies to any application using GStreamer - but this only applies if the application uses the appropriate macros. If some reference could be made the the macros to use, that would help in the search.
