Description Byron Hawkins 2013-02-04 18:08:11 UTC
When I right-click on an email address to copy it, I always want the raw email address, like "joe@web.com". It currently gives "Joe Web<joe@web.com>", which I guess is a valid email address, but it's never what I am trying to copy. Instead, I always manually select the raw address--which is basically impossible, because it is linked--so I copy with the trailing ">" and then manually delete the tail character. It would be really great to have a new menu item that just copies the raw address. Then I can use it for message filters or other things where the "Name<user@domain>" format is a hassle.

Works for me when right-clicking in the message preview pane. Cannot reproduce.
Comment 2 Byron Hawkins 2013-02-04 21:09:10 UTC
Try it with an address that is displayed in the "Name<user@domain>" format in the preview pane. If only the raw address is showing, then the raw address will be copied; but if the "Name<user@domain>" form is showing, then that will be copied. Whatever is showing gets copied, and usually it is the latter.
