Description Alexander van Loon 2013-01-26 12:01:01 UTC
If you switch to the list view for address books it displays the "Full Name" column by default. This is not like the address cards view which uses the "File As" line.

"Full Name" obviously sorts on first name, which isn't a good idea. Sorting on last name is better, so please display the "File As" column by default instead of the "Full Name" column in the list view.

Thanks for a bug report. Let's add the 'File As' as the first column, having now:
File As | Full name | Email | Business Phone | Home Phone | Mobile Phone
and sort by 'File As' by default. Note this will affect only new installations, similar as the change from bug #692577.

Thanks for solving this, but you mention that it will now display both the "File As" and "Full name" columns by default? So we see the names twice, albeit in a different format? This seems like unnecessary duplication to me.

True, that;s what I meant. I do not know how others, but I have stored file-as differently than the full name. For example the full name can have title and suffix, while I do not use those in file-as. I thought the completeness of full name will be good for users with the same habits.
