Discoverer todays has a a 'get_language' call, but also a 'get_language_id' should be available. get_language is great if you want to display the language in a user interface, but if you want to programatically deal with the language then the language code, if available, is a safer choice.

Talked a bit with Edward about this at the hackfest, I think from what I understand the current setup defaults to the Langcode if it is present, so closing this bug as invalid.
