Description António Fernandes 2013-01-21 10:14:30 UTC
On the file chooser dialog, the Backspace key may be used as a keyboard shortcut for "Go to parent folder" [0]

Nautilus no longer uses Backspace for this purpose. [1]

This shortcut does not work when focus is on a text entry for obvious reasons.

The result of pressing the Backspace key after navigating into a folder is unreliable and unpredictable. [2]

There is already another keyboard shortcut for the same action, Alt+Up, which is standard and works regardless of focus being on filename or location entries.

[0] This was originally requested and implemented in bug 153132.

Yeah, let's make this consistent. I've removed the Backspace shortcut to switch to the parent folder in commit 7d30e60.
