Description William Jon McCann 2013-01-15 23:29:16 UTC
When a folder is empty (as most are in a new install) we should have a better display.

Having an empty white view is not very friendly and is confusing since that also occurs when the view is loading.

The pattern we use in GNOME 3 has been to show a symbolic icon and/or some insensitive text that says "Folder is empty" or similar.

Bug 689825 asked for the same thing and raised the issue of hidden files. Which report should be marked as a duplicate?

There is a new report about this, so I'm deduplicating them into bug 689825, for chronological precedence.
