when you select File, then Open as layers and then click on any image file, the program displays a preview of the selected image, but the cursor and the image  start blinking indefinitely and the image appears to be charged again and again, and the hard drive seems to be reading the image many times. Below the preview image displays the text 'creating the preview' blinking indefinitely.
