Description Wolfram 2012-11-20 08:10:53 UTC
1) turn off keyboard backlight by echoing 0 into sys/class/leds/*::kbd_backlight/brightness
2) Log-on into gnome, then lock screen and wait until screen be completely turned off
3) Touch any keyboard key. Keyboard backlight will be reset to maximum value

This behavior repeats for asus ux31a and macbook. Also note that if I reduce backlight using hardware keys it don't resets to max value after screen lock, but gnome doesn't save backlight state between reboots.

I can confirm this bug. It happens on Fedora 20 with GNOME 3.14 COPR repository, but also with prior versions.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-power-manager/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
