GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 687394
[REGRESSION] gnome-screenshot no longer works in fallback mode, only takes complete black screenshots
Last modified: 2012-11-02 21:23:37 UTC
gnome-screenshot in GNOME 3.4 worked fine in fallback mode, but no longer works in GNOME 3.6. All screenshots taken are simply black boxes of the correct dimensions. $ gnome-screenshot ** Message: Unable to use GNOME Shell's builtin screenshot interface, resorting to fallback X11. (gnome-screenshot:5987): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to read the recently used resources file at `/home/ting/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but the parser failed: Error reading file '/home/ting/.local/share/recently-used.xbel': Is a directory. (gnome-screenshot:5987): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into `/home/ting/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to rename file '/home/ting/.local/share/recently-used.xbel.QOEFNW' to '/home/ting/.local/share/recently-used.xbel': g_rename() failed: Is a directory
After talking with Benjamin on IRC today, it turns out this is a Cairo regression, not a gnome-screenshot bug. Closing as NOTGNOME, this has been fixed in Cairo master today here: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cairo/commit/?id=724c6dfa9521e887682029add879c2fcdd518b14
