GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 685539
Request to take over 'gnome-chess' git repository
Last modified: 2012-10-16 20:38:56 UTC
The GNOME Games project is splitting each game into it's own git repository. I'd like to take over the 'gnome-chess' git repository to use for the Chess game in GNOME Games (glchess). I asked for any opposition to using this name [1] but got none. The existing gnome-chess project seems well and truly dead. You have access to all GNOME git repositories, just remember to do the needed changes on the relevant .doap files and you should be good to go. I'm closing this bug since no action is needed from the sysadmin side.
The gnome-chess repository is currently in archive - wouldn't it need to be unarchived first if I'm going to commit to it? Also, I don't want to destroy the existing gnome-chess history if possible (or include it in the new history) - can we reaname the old archive so I can create a new gnome-chess? Note I tried to create a new repository using: ssh rancell@git.gnome.org create-repository gnome-chess and it wasn't allowed. I do want to keep the history from the gnome-games version in the new repository also.
I've renamed archive/gnome-chess.git to archive/gnome-chess-old.git, you should be able to create a new gnome-chess repository now. What's next on my side?
Thanks Andrea, I've created and pushed to that repository.
