Last modified: 2017-08-23 14:10:14 UTC

This is a regression from 3.16.
In 3.16, pressing escape while the search field was open even when a file was in focus would change the search field. Now, in 3.22, pressing escape won't close the search field if it is out of focus.

Created attachment 358233 [details] [review] window-slot: hide search bar on ESC presses This supposedly regressed after some version of Nautilus.
Review of attachment 358233 [details] [review]: LGTM
Hitting [Esc] after selecting a search result was part of a workflow intended to replace type-ahead, such that selecting a file on search and hitting ESC would reveal the selected file in the folder. See commit 1594c2b03e98d59dfb8dcd4a62fd56ff2f6025aa I've tested the patch above and it successfully restores that behavior. Thanks Ernestas!
