Description Alexander Karlstad 2012-09-20 14:46:49 UTC
Is it possible to get support for Juniper's Secure Access VPN solution in vpnc? There is allready a script called MSJNC on Github[1] that works, but the best thing would be if it was integrated in NM.

According to http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/vpnc/ cmd-line vpnc client supports Juniper/Netscreen.
So I suppose NM vpnc plugin would as well. You can choose vendor in Advanced dialog of VPN setting in nm-connection-editor. There is a dropdown with "Cisco (default)" and "Netscreen".
However, I haven't tested as I don't have any Juniper server available.
Comment 2 Alexander Karlstad 2012-10-17 12:19:47 UTC
Yes, it supports some other Juniper VPN solution, but not the Secure Access. I've tried switching to "Netscreen" using nm-connection-editor with the network-manager-vpnc installed and set up.

There's some more from the author of the msjnc-app here: http://mad-scientist.net/juniper.html

Hmm, so when the server doesn't work with vpnc it would require to create a new plugin for this VPN type.
It appears there's "ncsvc" command-line client, but closed source, 32bit app only. Not nice.

See bug #736074: there is al alternative now
Comment 5 Thomas Haller 2015-05-18 12:36:22 UTC
I think this will be eventually fixed with bug 746664.

Depending on that bug.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
