The menuitem reads 'Wired    cable unplugged'. Orca just reads 'wired'.

Yes I already noticed this. The problem is that this specific menuitem has two labels, and the current API to set the relation between objects and labels is one-to-one

Looks like this is working fine now in the combined system menu.
