The user experience when typing with eg anthy in a shell entry is still quite different from gtk. I thought we had a fix for putting the preedit in the entry ?

I am still getting a popup for preedit, which is then replaced with the candidate window when I hit space.

If you're testing this with the F18 ibus package I suspect the cause is
