GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 684189
Curtain overlay animation not consistent
Last modified: 2012-09-17 13:25:42 UTC
In 3.6, the screen gets locked with an overlay. There is a curtain animation with which the overlay gets displayed. When the user presses press any key, the password box is displayed again there is animation when it goes up. 1) User presses esc key to enter password. The overlay goes up with curtain effect. User presses esc again to get back to overlay. This time there is no curtain effect. The overlay just displayed without any animation. This is not consistent with the initial animation when overlay displayed with the curtain animation. 2) When the user enters the password, then again the curtain should go up with the curtain animation, at least for consistency sake. As we are trying to give the impression that the lock screen is an overlay, the screen should go up and the desktop should be under it as it goes up. This could be more difficult to implement as we are killing the 'lock screen' process (if I understand correctly) when the password is correct. But this is not consistent with the other animations.
