GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 684025
Expunging a virtual folder not possible
Last modified: 2013-12-16 00:59:52 UTC
I'm a seasoned Evolution user and I use a lot of keyboard short-cuts for my day-to-day tasks. Upon upgrading my system to Fedora 17 (and evolution form 3.2.x to 3.4.x), the Ctrl+E short-cut does not work anymore. Version of evolution: evolution-3.4.4-1.fc17.x86_64
Works fine here. Which account type? Local or remote mail?
Remote and local mail. Account types: imap, imapx, maildir. For what it's worth I set up a new imapx account with Yahoo mail. Interestingly, there are 2 Trash items associated with this account: one has a "folder" icon and one has a "trash" icon. Pressing Ctrl+E on the Trash item with the "folder" icon works, whereas pressing Ctrl+E on the Trash item with the "trash" icon does not work. My deleted mails go to the Trash item with the "trash" icon and I usually unsubscribe the Trash item with the "folder" icon. Maybe this explains why this works for you?
Could this be in any way related to bug #418520, which was fixed between Evolution 3.2.x and 3.4.x?
It's not that Ctrl+E is broken, the option is siply disabled in the main menu.
(In reply to comment #4) > It's not that Ctrl+E is broken, the option is siply disabled in the main menu. FWIW, that may be the case with v3.10.x, however, the option is enabled in v3.4.4. You can use it by performing "File -> Empty Trash" or right-clicking on the Trash icon and executing "Empty Trash" option.
