i have ubuntu 12.10 with GNOME 3.5.91 and GDM 3.5.91
when logging in to GS it picks up the system language which is English but not the keyboard language layout which is German!!

This has been improved in 3.6.0. The login session now picks up keyboard layout from the system X configuration.
