Description Olivier Crête 2012-08-27 22:41:35 UTC
Running "alsasrc! alsasink" doesn't give the nice "smooth" feedback sound, but has clicks. "pulsesrc ! pulsesink" works fine. And the problem is also reproducible if you put in a real-live use-case, let's say if you add encoder/payloader/udpsink->udpsink/depayloader/decoder between alsasrc and alsasink..

Broken:
pulsesrc ! alsasink
audiotestsrc is-live=1 ! alsasink

Working:
audiotestsrc is-live=0 ! alsasink
audiotestsrc is-live=1 ! pulsesink

Seems like it's also broken on 0.10 actually.. But it works for the VoIP case in 0.10.

Conclusion: alsasink live playback is broken.

seems to work with master as of today.
