Description Adam Dingle 2012-08-07 17:40:45 UTC
On Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal), there's no About menu item available in Nautilus 3.5.4, so it's hard for a user to tell what version they're running. It appears that Nautilus now makes this menu item available only in the app menu, which Ubuntu does not display. It would be nice to make this item available in the gear menu for environments which don't display the app menu.

I've also reported this in Launchpad at

There was code with exactly that intention already, but it broke when we moved to a gear menu.
I now fixed this again in git master, thanks for the report.
