GIMP sends wrong print size to printer
Last modified: 2012-09-03 07:59:56 UTC
I am using GIMP 2.8 installed in Windows XP PRO SP3 with an HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer. The printer has two source trays. One tray for 8.5” x 11” paper and the second one for 4” x 6” photographic paper. THE PROBLEM In GIMP, I reduce the print size of a photo to 4” x 6” and set the printer to the 4”x6” photo paper source. I then attempt to print the photo. However, the printer gives an error message saying that the paper type is a mismatch or the paper is the wrong size and ejects a blank photo paper (no picture). If I attempt to print to the 8.5”x11” paper source, I have no problems. I have also tried to print to the photo paper source with smaller print sizes, and get the same error message. I believe the problem is with GIMP because when I use other graphic software to print the same photo, it prints fine. I have also used at least three other graphic applications to print the same photo and have no problems. What could be causing this problem? Thank you, Nick
