GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 67680
After login panel crashes intermittently
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-core Severity: critical Version: 1.4.0.4 Synopsis: After login panel crashes intermittently Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core Bugzilla-Component: panel Description: Usually it occurs after X is started for the first time and I login through GDM. Sometimes, it will occur after I log out and back into the system. I can make it go away by stoping X and restarting X. Sometimes it won't go away even then. At this point I delete my users gnome information (the ~/.gnome directory) and then log back in, and all is well. This problem is occuring on a Dell Latitude Cpt. It did not start occuring until I upgraded to the initial release of RH 7.2. I have patched the system and the problem is still occuring (though it is no wonder as I did not see any gnome patches). Debugging Information: (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... 0x405b5ca9 in __wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6
