Description erusan 2012-05-11 00:30:19 UTC
The URL bar should mimic the behavior of "smart" URL bars (prime example: Firefox's Awesomebar).

Presently, Epiphany does not give priority to website domains over website pages. That is, when I type "forums.debian.n", the first option should be simply "forums.debian.net" with subpages of that website listed after. What actually happens is that several subpages show up before the forums.debian.net main site.

Epiphany should also give proper priority to links based on how often (and perhaps how recently) they have been visited. If the algorithm takes these things into account, it certainly needs to be tweaked to produce better results. Again, I suggest Firefox's Awesomebar as a stellar implementation of this sort of "smart" location bar behavior.

Lastly, Epiphany seems to give (too much) priority to bookmarks. Presently, typing "forums.debian" lists my 6 bookmarks to the site before it lists the doman itself (forums.debian.net) and before it lists the 7 pages I have visited at the site. Giving such priority to bookmarks does not seem like ideal functionality.

All fair points. Every single thing you list is already in our TODO list for this, our plan is to revamp the algorithm for 3.6.
