GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 67582
Panel won't swallow apps (see bug #52099)
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Hi, Hi, It used to work. Then with one update gkrellm would not be swallowed anymore (some time ago already). The swallowed app "applet" will appear an the panel in the assigned size. Gkrellm will appear on the deskop, also cut to the correct size, but it won't get swallowed into the panel. I tested it with other apps: with gcalc (the calculater) and gnomecal (the calender). They will neither get swallowed but contrary to gkrellm they will not be cut down to the assigned sizes. They will just appear on the deskop. I tried it with a couple of other apps all with the same result, only gkrellm behaved differently as I explained. Obviously the happens only on a few systems or there would me more reports of this bug. My gnome version is 1.4.0.4, my sawfish is 1.0.1 Regards Thorsten
Which updates? Debian unstable or Ximian?
Adding relevant keywords. You can filter on the phrase 'luis doing GNOME2 work' to catch all instances of this so that you can ignore them.
Neither debian unstable nor Ximian ... it's debian testing (woody) updates.
Sorry for double posting. I just checked it with gkrellm. Still the same (gnome libs have been update meanwhile ... at least once). If you tell me how, I might be able help. I'm a developer, though not experienced with gnome. I could run something through a debugger and try and trace what's happening. I just have no idea how to do that and what to run in the debugger. I use gvd, ddd and the anjuta built in (all gdb I guess, I have little experience with gdb comandline, should that be necessary). So if I) can help - what should I do, where should I put in breakpoints?
