Description Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-09 12:42:11 UTC
Once the GOA daemon and applications will support 'generic' settings for the different type of accounts (IM, calendar, email, caldav, abook, etc), we should gain a way for 3rd party to easily extend GOA for their services.

Such plugin would be pretty simple as they would simply be a bunch of service specific settings, the login and password being stored by GOA and used by the different services.

The typical use case of this would be:
- Alice joined company BADGER.
- During her first day she install BADGER's GOA plugin and enter the login/pass of her newly created company account.
- She is automatically connected to the internal XMPP of the company, have access to its shared address book and has her company email configured in Evolution.

Another typical use case is conecting to local social networks like facebook, vk, qq to provide credentials for Telepathy\Empathy, photo galery plugin, music player plugin.

Now only parsing web pages for token in client plugin is suitable to provide authorization.

If plugin support is not posible, maybe dbus interface for this.

This should be taken care of by the Fleet Commander integration.
