Description GrafxUser 2012-04-10 20:45:03 UTC
The UI of 2.7.5 as well as of 2.8RC1 is very sluggish. Although I have a quite new, powerful computer, GIMP uses the processor and 2 GB RAM almost to the full, although being the only running program.

I have the same problem, GIMP runs very slow on both 2.8 RC1 and the previous 2.7 version.

When I disable the colour management display filter, it runs much smoother and drawing is possible. With the display filter on, drawing with any tool is impossible because gimp lags so badly.

Seems it's the same problem as bug #645345.
