Description Konstantine Rybnikov 2012-04-08 13:25:08 UTC
Hi!

It was too often that I tried or I saw someone else tried to stop playback in rhythmbox via space and I think it is natural (since awful lot of media players do that).

So I would propose to make space to stop/continue playback. Also, since many Ubuntu users were previously using Banshee (which also has space to stop playback), it would be nice to keep that experience for them.

Thank you for great minimalistic player!

currently it restart the playback at the beginning of the track, which is not a good idea.

Maybe the current space behaviour could be moved to backspace.

I just found this post, when I looked it up, because it's driving me nuts. Every other media player does it that way, and I can't get it out of my muscle memory, no matter how hard I try.

So yes, please make Space pause the playback instead of rewinding the whole track and restarting it!

I also like the idea of using backspace for the current behaviour. It's seems much more appropriate, as well as intuitive.

Agreed. I run into this all the time, in every single media player I use space always is pause, so it always screws me up when I need quick silence, but end up starting the track over again. I see no reason why rhythbox needs to go against the grain in this case.
