Sometimes when an incoming chat causes the window to appear at the centre of the lower edge of the screen, its position is such that part of the text entry widget goes below the lower edge of the screen.

At this point if more text comes in, then it pushes the entry widget further down.

This is gnome-shell-3.3.92.
