Description gnome-bugs 2012-03-13 20:13:03 UTC
The windows key is set up to show the shell menu (launcher / whatever I am supposed to call it). When I repeatedly press (well, mash as fast as I can) the windows key the keyboard will stop responding. A moment later the keyboard will come back for applications (I can type in a terminal), but the windows key will not show the launcher.

After visiting the launcher a couple of times using the mouse, everything returns back to normal.

Holding down the windows key for a period of time that would normally set of the keyboard repeat does not show this behaviour.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
