Description:
I have a full install of Red Hat 7.2, and even on the first boot of a fresh install, launching the X server into GNOME, the panel will randomly seg. fault on startup.

Please try the latest gnome-libs and gnome-core packages available
from http://download.gnome.org/

These have fixes for many crashes and other bugs in both packages.
