GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 670056
Battery button should launch gnome-control-center power instead of gnome-power-statistics
Last modified: 2012-03-09 17:23:55 UTC
On my Thinkpad T500, Fn+F3 has an icon of battery on it and the manual says "Select a power scheme that has been created by Power Manager. When you press this combination, a panel for selecting a power scheme appears." I do not know the generic name of this button though. Upon pressing it, gnome-power-statistics is launched. I would expect gnome-control-center power to get launched. It seems to me it aligns with the manual (which might be different for other laptops) but it is also more logical. The shortcut is there to provide an easier way to control the computer (change the settings, all other shortcuts lead to some action), i.e. change power settings policy.
Richard, thought?
