GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 668835
evolution is ignoring fontsize after clicking on "send"
Last modified: 2014-05-03 10:42:32 UTC
i set the font-size on evolution on "8pt". Which is working fine (see http://alpha-unix.de/~iceroot/ubuntu/evolution-small.png) When i click on "send" evolution is still showing my text and also showing the status of the send-process. That is ok but evolution is ignoring the font-size (see http://alpha-unix.de/~iceroot/ubuntu/evolution-big.png) in that process. also see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/922577
Thanks for a bug report. As far as I understand the pictures then the mail is composed in plain text mode, which basically sends simple text, with absolutely no formatting and only the receiving part (the client) decides in which font and font size the plain text is rendered (it is usually a monospace font). I do not consider this being a bug in evolution. I'm wondering how you could change the font size in plain text mode, because such actions are available only for HTML messages.
Hi Milan, i did not change the fontsize of the mail itself (not possible in plain text as i said). I changed the fontsize of evolution itself so it does fit better on my eeepc. evolution is ignoring this change when i click on send. So in my opinion this bug is still valid and related to the evolution-gui.
just for the record, so it does not sound rude. Of course i mean "as you said" and not "as i said" :)
OK, so, did you change font in Edit->preferences->Mail Preferences->untick "use same font as other applications" and then you picked a smaller font for monospace? Or is this a system-wide font change for nmonospace fonts? I'm still not sure how you made the composer's body font smaller, and I do not see a reason why clicking "Send" would change internal fonts in message body (I didn't check the code, I'm just asking first).
Michael: Could you answer comment 4, please?
