Description Milan Bouchet-Valat 2012-01-20 14:28:08 UTC
This bug has been present in Empathy for ages, AFAICT. I only have an IRC account, and when I'm connected to it, with several rooms open, Empathy still says my status is "offline". I can change it manually to "online" or anything, but it should be done automatically.

Maybe related: the Shell reports I'm offline, even if I change the status to "online" in Empathy. So maybe the status isn't really changed after all. (Just a possibility, ignore this if that's unrelated, there have been bugs in the Shell about that.)

Thanks for your bug report. I doubled checked and that's because Idle doesn't implement our presence interface. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21957#c14

Actually it's https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45120 I wrote a fix.
