GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 668304
power status icon shows up red on startup
Last modified: 2013-06-17 11:11:37 UTC
gnome-shell-3.2.1-2.fc16.x86_64 Because it gets its data from gnome-settings-daemon, the power status icon seems to show instantly, showing an empty (red) battery, then gets its real data from g-s-d. I would rather not see that red icon, and only have the icon show up when we have the data from g-s-d. It's quite distressing seeing that red icon on startup, it makes it look quite unpolished.
I've just seen the same problem with the network indicator. It had a small red emblem when logging in.
Does this happen on 3.4 too? Just checked, and the power manager proxy is created synchronously. (On 3.2, just calling "this.actor.hide()" after chaining up in _init would fix the issue)
I tihnk I used to see this in 3.2, but not in 3.4 and newer. Bastien, Milan, have you seen it in 3.6?
