Description Tim Cuthbertson 2012-01-04 00:20:24 UTC
When I open the gimp and select the paintbrush tool, I can click the "dynamics" icon and select the button labelled "open the dynamics selection dialog". The first time I do this, it works and the dialog pops up. But after I've done this one (and closed the dialog), I can never again access this dialog - clicking the button again does nothing until I restart the GIMP.
Comment 1 Mark Skipper 2012-01-07 20:26:24 UTC
I can reproduce this bug and I have a similar problem with the paint dynamics editor window.

Tim's report above appears to refer to a window whose title is Paint Dynamics
which is opened as he described. I experience the same as Tim: once opened
and subsequently closed, I cannot re-open this window. My work round is to
drag the tool tab from the window and dock it in one of the docks.

I experience the same problem with the "Paint Dynamics Editor" window which
is opened by clicking on the little pencil-and-pad icon next to the
text field under the word Dynamics. Once I open this and close it, I cannot
re-open it until I restart Gimp. Same work-round as above.

Gimp Version: 2.7.4
Ubuntu 11.10 with compiz 0.9.6 and running the Unity 3d Desktop. Unity version 4.24.0.
Comment 2 Mark Skipper 2012-01-07 20:35:37 UTC
I was also able to reproduce both the above problems using Unity 2D.

Duplicate of bug #662240?

Yes, duplicate.

Ubuntu patched (broke) their GTK+. Please install a vanilla upstream GTK+.
