1. Open Evolution
3. Click on “New->Contact”
4. Enter details in the phone number field which aren't numbers


EXPECTED OUTCOME:Phone number field should not accept special characters or
characters
ACTUAL OUTCOME:Phone number field accepts special characters/characters
USER IMPACT: Unable to make out the phone number field entered

Marking as dup. Plus I don't see ANY valid reason to disallow this, or any good algorithm that knows what's used in this big world. Again, see bug 513438.
