GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 661770
integration with gnome 3 sound menu (gnome-shell)
Last modified: 2011-10-24 18:36:01 UTC
Should be nice if was possible to change the music without open Banshee, like was in Ubuntu 10.10. It's done by a sound menu integration.
Which Banshee version is this about? And how was it in Ubuntu 10.10, as I don't use Ubuntu?
(In reply to comment #1) > Which Banshee version is this about? Enhancement, not bug, I guess, so no version really applies. > And how was it in Ubuntu 10.10, as I don't use Ubuntu? I guess Federico meant to mention Ubuntu to compare with an enhancement that is already implemented for Unity. This bug is about the equivalent in GnomeShell I'm assuming?
I'm using ubuntu 11.10 with gnome 3, I guess this is 3.2(In reply to comment #2) > (In reply to comment #1) > > Which Banshee version is this about? 2.2 > > Enhancement, not bug, I guess, so no version really applies. > > > > And how was it in Ubuntu 10.10, as I don't use Ubuntu? In Ubuntu 10.10 Rhythmbox was the default music player. > > I guess Federico meant to mention Ubuntu to compare with an enhancement that is > already implemented for Unity. the gnome-shell sound menu doesn't have any media player controls. see rhythmbox notifications for what integration of media players in gnome3 can look like.
I guess Frederico is referring to the "Sound Menu" added in Ubuntu 10.10, which is an Ubuntu-specific feature : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoundMenu Banshee supports that, if it's running in an environment that has it. Adding support for gnome-shell's notification scheme and enhanced message tray is tracked in bug #645628, so I'm marking this one as a duplicate. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 645628 ***
