GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 661407
100% CPU use with multiple screens
Last modified: 2012-01-08 20:16:07 UTC
I frequently use multiple screens at work, university and even home with my netbook, in presentations or just to have more screen space. Installed gnome 3.2 and this simple do not works because gnome-shell uses 100% of CPU and freezes my desktop! To see this happening, just connect a monitor in a notebook (not tested on desktops yet). "top" command line utility can show the CPU use. Last test on EEE-PC 1005 HA running Ubuntu Linux Oneiric (beta 2). Gnome shell version 3.2.0+git20111008.23478f3. Now I'm going to install KDE to have my presentation working...
Please provide strace and/or valgrind logs.
This sounds like a dupe of bug 650994.
Saulo can you add the request information of comment 1 thank Set as NEEDINFO
Hello! Sorry for time! Can you help me about how to provide the Valgrind logs? My Gnome version it's installed from Ubuntu repositories... I think this really sounds like bug 650994., I will try put here the xrandr output too. I do not posted here "top" output because it's a netbook, and when the CPU go to 100% I really can't use it anymore even disconnect the external video.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind will be helpful.
No feedback for nearly three months, hence assuming it's a dup of bug 650994. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 650994 ***
