Description Maurizio 2011-10-04 17:44:57 UTC
This on Fedora beta 16.

This is my monitors configuration:

 ____________
| |__________
| SECONDARY | |
| | PRIMARY |
|____________|__________|

When I go with the cursor on the top left of the secondary monitor, the gnome shell appears on the primary monitor, forcing me to go on the other monitor in order to use it.

I think the correct working should be either making the shell appear on the monitor where the cursor is, or disabling the shell in the secondary monitor.

Why are you hitting the hot corner then? Is it by accident?
Comment 2 Maurizio 2011-10-04 19:41:19 UTC
No, not by accident. I meant that, when I hit the hot corner, I expect to see the gnome shell on the monitor with that corner, not on the other.
Comment 3 Rui Matos 2011-10-04 20:21:46 UTC
No, sorry, that would go against the design. We can't have the overview jumping around monitors. The top panel and thus the overview are supposed to be "solid" elements, that are always there and incur only minimal visual changes.

The secondary monitor's hot corner was added for convenience to quickly change windows on that monitor. If you find yourself using your "secondary" monitor most of the time then you should consider changing which one is primary.
