Description Christian Fredrik Kalager Schaller 2011-10-02 13:15:39 UTC
A lot of the ftyps are arbitrary in the sense that they are device specific etc. To create files for the PSP I need to be able to set the ftyp to MSNV for instance. Would be good if mp4mux and qtmux had a property to do so.
Comment 1 Christian Fredrik Kalager Schaller 2011-10-03 11:39:08 UTC
Talked to Edward and his suggestion was to add any ftyps we need as a caps variant, instead of as a property.

Comment 3 Tim-Philipp Müller 2011-10-03 11:49:28 UTC
I think these should only be done on a case-by-case basis, since often an ftyp signals some restrictions, and we want to make sure that the muxer honours those.
Comment 4 Thiago Sousa Santos 2011-10-03 12:00:53 UTC
I agree with Edward and Tim here, adding on a case-by-case basis using 'variant' field, possibly adding a new element where atoms differ too much.

Christian, let's close this as INVALID and open specific bugs about the formats you're interested in.
