Description Simon Harhues 2011-09-23 12:02:33 UTC
Would be nice to have calendar items from Thunderbirds addon Ligthning in Tracker.

Usefull fields could be:
- Title
- Place
- Attendance List (contacts)
- Description

The developers page of Lightning is here:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Dev_Guide (Developer Guide)

Sadly I didn't find a API dscription on their website, but there are some other Thunderbird addons that grab calendar information. Maybe to have a look at them can be helpfull:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/ics-inspector/
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/thunderbirthday/
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/hcalendar-provider/

Just found some website on how to create a addon dealing with calendar information:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Creating_an_Extension

Maybe it is wise to create it as a seperate addon and not to include it in the existing Thunderbird addon. One advantage: it can can depend on installed Ligthning addon.

Thanks for the feedback. The tracker Thunderbird plugin was discontinued in Tracker 2.0.0 as it had been unmaintained for some time, so this bug is sadly now obsolete. The plugin could be restored if someone is able to dedicate time to maintaining it, though.
