GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 656528
Show the path to every file in the result of a search
Last modified: 2011-08-18 14:57:10 UTC
Created attachment 193826 [details] Result of a search using 'GNOME-Search-Tool' showing the path (= location) in a seperate column When I search for files (e.g. fstab) in Nautilus, the result doesn't show the path (= location) of the files in the result. I have to right click > select properties, to view the file's path. It would be very nice to have a column with the path for every file of the result (like the 'GNOME-Search-Tool' does). Then you can also sort the result by path. A feature with "open folder which contains the file" is also necessary. The result could be like this: see attachment (screenshot of the result of a search using 'GNOME-Search-Tool') Even in version 3.1.4 (tested with Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 1) this feature is still missing. P.S: I know this wish is a duplicate. PP.S: The proposed workaround right-click > Properties > Location is suboptimal, because: - not userfriendly (right-click on every file in the result; no overview), - no sorting by path, - a long pathname will not be shown in full length on small monitors.
No need to file duplicates if you are aware of it - It won't help pushing this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 607303 ***
