GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 656168
Splitting and merging subtitle lines
Last modified: 2011-08-12 11:32:05 UTC
It would be great if one could select two (or more?) neighbouring lines and merge them into one with a key combination. So that the start time would be the start time of the first original line, and the ending time is the ending time of the second (last...) original line, and the text of the two (or all of the) lines would be separated by (a) newline(s). Also multi-line subtitles could have been split at the linebreaks into more neighbouring lines, with the duration split equally, or maybe in the ratio of the lengths of the lines. Maybe even a long single-line subtitle could have been splitted at the nearest space character to the middle of the line. Or at thirds, quarters... You know, what I mean... This feature doesn't seem too hard to implement, but would be very useful. Sorry for my bad English, and thanks! Attila
Hi! Good news, this feature is already implemented in the development version. If you want to compile from Git, take a look at http://gnomesubtitles.com/contribute . Otherwise, this feature will eventually be part of the next release in the near future. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 607229 ***
Great! Thanks! Sorry I haven't checked the git before I posted the bug... I can't wait the next release if I don't succeed in compiling. But... Why is this a duplicate of #607229?
Sorry, copy+paste error... the real existing bug was bug #651958! Whenever you're able to test it, please tell me if the current implementation is according to your needs.
