Description Andrew Poth 2011-07-23 01:28:37 UTC
Add the ability to set the zoom to a fixed, user-selectable value and maintain it from one image to the next while browsing a folder. Eye-of-Gnome (2.30, as supplied with Ubuntu 10.04) forgets the zoom setting when using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons and always resizes the image to fit in the window. Lack of this ability makes it inconvenient when browsing a folder containing many versions of the same image or similar images differing only by size, as the user must read the zoom factor from the status bar at the bottom of the window and mentally keep track of image sizes by the numbers. Seeing images in their proper relative sizes within the program window would be much more intuitive and easier to use. Having this feature available from the right-click context menu as well as the menu bar would be helpful.

I think this describes the same behaviour as bug 311297.
