GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 654663
Gnome does not does not lock when resuming from suspend intermittently
Last modified: 2013-02-12 07:00:11 UTC
Created attachment 192017 [details] lspci -vv output Sometimes gnome locks and sometimes nothing happens and I'm back at the desktop when resuming from suspend. uname -a output 2.6.38.8-35.fc15.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jul 6 13:58:54 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I have the same problem, but for me it's every time the pc returns from suspend. Linux 3.1.6-1.fc16.i686 #1 SMP Wed Dec 21 23:18:01 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Gnome 3.2.1
Issue still present on Linux 3.3.5-2.fc16.i686.PAE #1 SMP Tue May 8 11:43:02 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux gnome-session.i686 3.2.1-2.fc16 gnome-settings-daemon.i686 3.2.3-1.fc16 Also every time resume from suspend, using all (as far as I know) 3 methods: Closing lid Fn+F4 (TP T410) Status menu -> Suspend Manually created script in /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d which locks screensaver before suspend, but would like to see this solved in Gnome itself.
Looking at: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=858259 It seems that for Fedora at least this was fixed in: gnome-settings-daemon-3.6.1-3.fc18 Is anyone still having problems with more recent code?
The locking is now done by gnome-shell itself in GNOME 3.7, avoiding races created by the old infrastructure. Thanks for the bug report.
