Hi,

Recently, I worked on TextMate and I found a feature that is very interesting: surrounding selection with either brackets, quotes or braces.

The feature replaces the current behaviour when text is selected and a quote or open brace is inserted.

Current behaviour: the quote or open brace replaces the selection

New behaviour: the selection is surrounded by quotes or braces

This probably needs its place in a plugin

Yes, this can be developed as a third-party plugin. No need to keep this in bugzilla.
