GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 653790
Deadlock in wait_segment and gst_ring_buffer_is_acquired
Last modified: 2011-12-07 21:22:52 UTC
Created attachment 191075 [details] totem-bt.txt Totem occasionally deadlocks while I'm using it, so I finally decided to collect a backtrace and file this bug. Based on the functions involved, I'm guessing that it's a problem in gstreamer, not totem, which is why I filed here. See the attached file for the gdb output. I don't remember whether the deadlock happened during normal playback, or in response to me seeking or pausing in the UI.
I forgot to mention: this is on an up to date Debian Wheezy system.
Could you attach a debug log created with 'GST_DEBUG=alsa:5 totem &>log'?
Created attachment 191208 [details] log Yeah, here's the portion of the log that gets printed during initialization. I have no way to reproduce the deadlock, so I can't really provide anything more useful than that.
It's more important to have a log file of when the deadlock happens.
simon80, were you able to reproduce deadlock ? logs will be required when you see deadlock.
It happens far too occasionally for me to obtain logs (less than once a week, I'd say, and never in the last few weeks). I would have to always run totem with GST_DEBUG enabled until the next time it deadlocks.
