Description Casual J. Programmer 2011-06-19 14:07:47 UTC
gnome-netstatus-2.28.2-8.1.i586

The applet is not listed in "add to panel" (ALT+right click on panel) and thus can not be added any longer.

I'm presently using openSUSE 12.1 Milestone 1 (i586), VERSION = 12.1, CODENAME = Asparagus

Gnome 3 runs in fallback mode with panels

Did you report this against opensuse's bugtracker?
Comment 2 Casual J. Programmer 2011-06-20 05:09:38 UTC
No.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2011-06-20 09:49:48 UTC
If you are running *beta* versions of distributions I'd report to distros first. Closing as NOTGNOME here for the time being. Please file in bugzilla.novell.com.

Andre: I think the issue at hand is rather that gnome-netstatus has not been ported to GNOME3 backend (still uses libpanelapplet-2.0 for example)

surely, something the OP forgot to mention: but 12.1 will ship GNOME 3.x :)

Which makes the general question: is gnome-netstatus going to see an update to G3 infra or shall we drop it.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2011-06-23 10:20:49 UTC
Probably not, see http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2011-June/msg00073.html
