GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 652681
All GNOME mailing lists rejecting my posts
Last modified: 2011-06-30 20:06:22 UTC
For a couple of weeks I've been getting a lot a bounce mails like the one below when I try to post to a GNOME hosted mailing list. It used to happen about once a week, but starting a few days ago it now happens every time I try to post. I clicked on the links in these messages at it seems my ISP's mail system has been placed on this UCEPROTECT blacklist. I've tried contacting my ISP about this problem and they're just ignoring me. This issue is precluding me from doing important tasks, like sending release announcements. I'm also unable to participate in mailing list discussions with my team. Can something please be done about this? -------- Forwarded Message -------- From: Mail Administrator <Postmaster@cox.net> Reply-to: <Postmaster@cox.net> To: jrliggett@cox.net Subject: Mail System Error - Returned Mail Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2011 16:50:46 -0400 Recipient: <gnome-announce-list@gnome.org> Reason: 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [68.230.241.143] blocked using dnsbl-1.uceprotect.net; IP 68.230.241.143 is UCEPROTECT-Level 1 listed. I've made an exception for IP address 68.230.241.143; it'll activate in ~20min. Your ISP might use multiple IPs, please reopen if you get a different error message.
I got another bounce from a different IP, this time 68.230.241.146. Can you add this one to your exceptions list? Thanks
Done, please give it 20-30 minutes for puppet to pick up this change on the server.
Yet another bounce...here's another IP for your list: 68.230.241.147
I'm still getting bounces here...can you please make sure that 68.230.241.147 is on the exceptions list?
20-30min again
