Backtrace during login

When using ldap (nslcd) or sss as backend, gdm freezes after entering the username.

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. connect your system to a LDAP
2. try to login using an LDAP account

Actual results:
gdm freezes

Expected results:
user should be able to enter password, followed by login if the password is
correct.
